ATTENTION: KSE students will participating in a Patti Rutland Dance Show on Wednesday, April 20, 2015 at the Dothan Civic Center at 5:30 p.m. KSE students will be wearing navy blue KSE shirt or red Kelly Springs shirt and khaki uniform bottoms.   

KSE 2015 LinC Chess Team will be representing KSE at the City-Wide Chess Tournament on Monday, May 18, 2015. Chess Team Members: 5th Grade-Riley Jordan, P.J. Cooper, Daniel Burque; 4th Grade-Gracie Chenoweth, Thomas Dowd, Aiden Groomes; 3rd Grade-Harrison Stoves, Aiden Gomez. Jon Robert Finch will be the alternate team member. Congratulations to these students and Best Wishes on their upcoming Tournament!

Jon Jam and Leadership Dothan Donates nearly $3,000.00 for KSE's Autism Sensory Room.   

KSE Supports Autism Awareness by "Lighting it up Blue". Staff, Faculty, and Students wore blue to show their support. Many teachers of KSE will show support by participating in the Autism Run/Walk on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Kiwanis Park located at Westgate Park in Dothan, Alabama.

KSE's 4th and 5th Grade Students recently enjoyed the production of "Frozen" at the Dothan Civic Center.

January is Board of Education Recognition Month. KSE is proud of our hard-working board members, and all they do for our staff and students. Mrs. Breedlove received the most turkey feathers so she had the honor of wearing the turkey costume on Tuesday! What a good sport!

KSE October Staff of the Month Mrs. Shannon Schwab. Mrs. Schwab is our Clerical Aid in our front office. Mrs. Schwab is extra warm and friendly when welcoming guests, parents, and children! Congratulation for being voted Staff of the Month for October!   

November Staff of the Month at KSE is Mrs. Celena Morris. Mrs. Morris is our counselor. This year she has started the "Lunch Bunch". Each week she meets and eats with a different group of students. The students eagerly look forward to having lunch with Mrs. Morris! Great Going!   

Kelly Springs 2014-2015 Teacher of the Year: Mrs. Terri Lee. Congratulations to Mrs. Lee!   

KSE's September Staff of the Month Mrs. Joyia McCurley, first grade teacher. Mrs. McCurley was KSE Teacher of the Year last year. She worked extra hard in organizing the Pancake Breakfast. August Staff of the Month was Mrs. Denise Moore KSE Custodian! Mrs. Moore is one hard working lady who keeps our school looking spotless. CONGRATULATIONS to both Mrs. Moore and Mrs. McCurley!!!!! BOTH jobs equally well done!   

A HUGE thank you to MICHELIN for their $10,000 contribution! These funds will be used to purchase Studies Weekly for all grade levels. The remainder of the funds will be used to help create a sensory room for our special needs students. How wonderful it is to have such a thoughtful and resourceful adopt-a-school as MICHELIN!   

While learning about the periodic table and chemical reactions, LinC students created Lava Lamps!

Kelly Springs 2014 Hungry for Learning Learn-a-Thon Sponsored by Burnham Shoes: On Friday, October 10, the students of KSE enjoyed and learned about production of food industries such as Gigi cupcakes, Krispy Kreme, 4H, as well as career choices such as firefighters, police officers, and emergency medical technicians.   

KSE First Attendance Party: The classes with the highest attendance for the month of September were: K-2 Ms. Redman and a tie in grades 3-5 with Mrs. Lawrence and Ms. Will's classes. All three classes only had 3 absences for the month of Sept. Mrs. McNeil had 0 absences! Congratulations! These classes were rewarded with popsicles and outside play.   

KSE First Annual Pancakes for Parents Breakfast on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 was a huge hit. More than 175 parents enjoyed pancakes made by the staff and faculty of Kelly Springs! This was a fabulous event in welcoming parents into our school!   

Michelin employees, Mr. Dan Burque and Mr. Rodney McCoy, work with Joshua Thompson and Austin Chandler in Mrs. Lee's second grade class on their reading skills. Michelin volunteers work with students at all grade levels throughout the week.

KSE Staff and Faculty participated in the ice bucket challenge and in donations to ALS in memory of Sondra Speigner who was a deaf interpreter at KSE until her diagnosis with ALS. This event took place on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Those participating were 3rd grade Teacher Brenda Patterson, 5th Grade Teacher Jennifer Wills, Kindergarten Teacher Rachel Burchfield, Deaf Interpreter Kellie Tate, and KSE Principal Wanda Dismukes. Members of Sondra's family also joined in on the fun! Please see the slide show for pictures of the event.

KSE Welcomes the following additions to our faculty: Andrea Tice- 5th grade teacher; Andrea Finch- Special Education Aide; Jennifer Adams- Interpreter; Barbara Steger- Program Specialist   

Kelly Springs welcomes Mrs. Leigh (Guy) Lawrence back to Kelly Springs. This year she will be teaching third grade. In addition, Kelly Springs welcomes Mrs. Anissa Fundum's move from KSE Fourth Grade Teacher to now KSE First Grade Teacher!
