SGA collects items for the House of Ruth   

SGA visits SAMC and Flowers for during February Hear Association Month. The students donated cards and lollipops to the heart patients. A special thanks to Anna Love's Mom and Dad for making the cards and lollipops for the SGA students.   

Kelly Springs is the WINNER of the "Yes We Can Do Good" structure competition!!!! We received $1,400.0 for coming in first place!   

Rehearsal begins for "Point of the Pyramid" LinC drama play.   

KSE A Souper Caterpillar from "The Hungry Caterpillar", was submitted by KSE for the system-wide soup can competition! Our school rocks as being the most creative by using the actual soup products and all attachments are food related!   

Hats off to Reading: Read Across America 2014   

Kindergarten students had a blast celebrating the 100th day of school on Tuesday, February 4, 2014   

Daniel Burque represented KSE proudly during the District Spelling Bee on 2/5/14. Before the event the Kindergarten and First Grade students hosted a pep rally for Daniel.   

"Point of the Pyramid" LinC play about Ancient Egyptian cast: Akori-P.J., Sheba-Annette, Mhotep-Skye, Baki-Riley, Mistress Merit-Celina, Rami-Tabri, Akana-Pooja, Pharaoh-Thomas, Nafrini-Gracie, Ashai-Samantha, Ebio-Alexis A., Manu-Talia. Stage Helpers and guards, students, townspeople: Daniel, Kimora, Tristan, Megan. The performance date has yet to be determined but will probably be in May.   

A huge thank you to Big Fun for rewarding our Good Citizens every month with some fantastic playtime!   

CONGRATULATIONS to Mrs. Joyia McCurley, KSE TEACHER OF THE YEAR! Mrs. McCurley was recognized Monday, January 13, 2014 during the DCS Board Meeting. We are MORE than proud of Mrs. McCurley!   

4th and 5th grade students who qualified to participate in the Duke TIP Talent Search Program were recognized at KSE. They are Kaitlin Clements, Alexis Beard, Brandon Elkins, Cameron Brackins, Daniel Burque, Tristan Matthews, Pooja Patel and Katy Wilkes. Last years participants include Skye Watts and Katarina Gill!   

KSE students were able to enjoy a Winter Wonderland display thanks to some of our insightful teachers!   

No matter the weather AR celebration will go on! Students who met their AR goals for the second nine weeks were able to enjoy a time of fun on the inflatables!   

Kelly Springs Elks Lodge Hoop Shoot Winners: Da' Miyah Davis, Caleb Hill, Megan Henderson, and Javarus Jones. These students will compete at Northview Jan. 12 at 1:30 PM   

KSE Spelling Bee Winner 2013-2014, Daniel Burque, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   

Today, KSE held a Spelling Bee for students who qualified and were interested in grades 3rd-5th grades. All contestants did a magnificient job. Matthew Wanchik and Daniel Burque were neck to neck for awhile before Daniel won. Congratulations to all those who participated! It was an exciting event.   

KSE enjoyed a delightful December performance by our entertaining first grade students and talented fifth grade chorus during PTO.

The faculty and staff of KSE eagerly participated in the Autism Auction by buying these two pictures our Awesome Autistic children painted for the auction. These will proudly hang in our school.
